The Epic Allegheny Odyssey is designed for experienced paddlers. Daily distances range from 7–16 miles on moving river water over consecutive days. Participants should be comfortable with multi-day river paddling before registering.

The Epic Allegheny Odyssey is a commemorative 107-mile sojourn created to honor America's 250th anniversary and the significant role western Pennsylvania's Allegheny River has played in our nation's history.
Beginning with a kickoff celebration in Warren, PA on Sunday, July 26, 2026, the paddling journey launches Monday, July 27, traveling through the Wild and Scenic Allegheny River corridor for 7 days through ancient forests, oil-heritage towns, and landscapes that carry 250 years of American history.
The Odyssey will leave a lasting legacy through powerful storytelling, a commemorative book, and the unforgettable experiences of all who take part.

Each evening comes alive with programs celebrating the history, ecology, and culture of the Allegheny River corridor. All programs will be professionally filmed and shared as free public educational resources.
Costumed performers bring to life the dramatic events and peoples who shaped the Allegheny River Valley — from Native American heritage to the French & Indian War and the birth of the American oil industry.
Historians, authors, and experts explore the pivotal role western Pennsylvania played in America's founding and industrial development.
River scientists and conservation leaders discuss the ecology of the Wild & Scenic Allegheny — fisheries, wildlife, water quality, and ongoing conservation work.
Intimate fireside conversations bring paddlers and community members together to share stories, reflect on the river's past, and discuss its future.
Music, art, storytelling, and performances celebrate the diverse communities and traditions that have called the Allegheny River home across centuries.

Both packages include 3 meals + 2 snacks daily, water stops, indoor lodging with showers, and a UPF sun-blocking shirt. Bring your own sleeping bag and pad.
Designed for paddlers comfortable with 7–16 miles daily on moving river water over consecutive days. Contact us with questions before registering.
If conditions are unsafe, organizers may delay, cancel a day (shuttling to next lodging), or cancel the event. If canceled with fewer than half of paddling days completed, a prorated refund will be issued. Organizers' decisions are final.
All participants must wear their PFD/life jacket at all times while on the water. No exceptions.
All participants must comply with all federal, state, and local laws — including PA Fish & Boat Commission and Allegheny National Forest regulations.
